SNOOKER AND BILLIARDS
There are two full-sized snooker tables upstairs. A group of members play regularly on Wednesday and Friday nights and the tables are available for members during all opening hours.
FOOTY TIPPING COMPETITION
Two footy tipping competitions are held during the AFL season. The first is an upfront competition when the score cards are filled in for the whole season before the commencement of the first game. No results are published until the end of the season. This competition costs $10 to enter and the winner takes all.
In the second competition the score cards are filled out at the beginning of each round and results are placed on the notice board each week, until about the fourth last week of the season, when results are no longer published, but held until the last of the home and away rounds. A function is held at the club in the week before the grand final to announce the winner. This competition costs $30 to enter.
Each week one point is awarded for each correct selection, with two bonus points awarded if anyone successfully selects all eight winning teams in a round.
A drawn game does not count as a successful selection, however if a participant successfully selects a draw, ten points are awarded.
In addition each participant has two "wild cards" that can be used for any round. The wild card doubles the points scored for that round.
The Punters Club commences each year in mid January and concludes mid December - just in time for Christmas!
Members contribute $20 per week, with half the weekly income being banked, and the other half used for betting.
The punter of the week has $200 to outlay and can choose his own "investments" ,usually on horse racing, but any other wager is acceptable (eg Football). If the results return a an amount in excess of the $200 outlay, the punter continues for as long as the returns are in positive territory.
All betting returns are banked with the other income and the pool is divided amongst the members in mid December.
